27.6.2019Czech girls score 13 goals for easy win vs GB in opening gameGBA - CZE 0:13, 1.kolo | | Johan Čáp
C. T R E B O V A – The Czech U18 girls’ national team started the Junior World Cup with a huge offensive performance and achieved its first three points without any big problems. Nevertheless, Team GB played a likeable game full of passion and effort. However, five minutes of the game, the Czechs took the early lead. In the second period, British goalie Charlotte Jackson had to unfortunately leave the game due to nausea and, because the team lacked a backup goalie, forward Kirsten Rean went into the net. Thanks to that fact, the Czechs scored 13 goals for a relatively easy win. One of the most dominant players of the match was obviously 17-year-old Kristyna Kaltounkova (4 goals) who also played at the recently completed ISBHF World Championship in Kosice.
27.6.2019A national derby: Czech U16 beats Czech U15 8-1 CZ6 - CZ5 8:1, 1.kolo | | Johan Čáp, Gerard Filip
Thursday´s U16 schedule of Junior World Cup started with a very interesting match when it comes to the both opponents. A national battle of teams from the same country, Czech U16 vs U15, was full of 1-on-1 battles and penalties. But a physically demanding game from the older Czech team was effective right from the start of the match. The U16 team took the lead after 48 seconds and gradually was more and more superior. A fantastic individual performance came from Lukas Novotny (HBC Svitkov Stars club), who achieved a hat trick and added one assist. Interestingly, he plays in same lineup which attracted spectators in Prerov during the 2018 Junior World Cup (Novotny was third in the players statistics). A year after, with the U16 squad, he helped his teammates to beat the younger Czechs 8-1.
